The station, in fact, located in the historic center, is the point of interchange between the metro network (line A and line B) and the long-distance surface railway lines (including high-speed) to Bologna, Florence, Milan, Naples and Venice.
The proximity of our structure, located in Via Urbano Rattazzi 65 just in front of the station entrance, allows you to reach the tracks in a few minutes, allowing you to arrive on time, without stress and to head comfortably to your next destination.
From Rome City Centre to Fiumicino and Ciampino Airports in a few minutes
Do you have to get on a plane home or to your next business appointment? Don’t worry, from Roma Termini station you can reach the two main airports in a few minutes.
Every day, in fact, there are trains and shuttle buses (usually every 30 minutes), that will quickly take you to Fiumicino Leonardo Da Vinci Airport or Ciampino Airport in perfect time to take your flight.
- Rome Termini – Leonardo Da Vinci Airport: there are two railway lines to the airport. The main and fastest one is the Leonardo Express departing from the special platform on the east side of the station. The connection, guaranteed also in case of strike, is carried out by a train that leaves every 30 minutes and it takes only about 31 minutes to reach its destination. The second, however, is the Regional F1 route, which departs every 15 minutes on weekdays and every 30 minutes during holidays, and has a journey time of about 45 minutes.
- Roma Termini – Giovan Battista Pastine di Ciampino: there are several alternatives that allow you to reach Ciampino airport. The fastest and cheapest solution is to use a train together with a bus. In fact, from Roma Termini you can reach Ciampino station by train in just fifteen minutes. Once you arrive at Ciampino station, you will then have to take a bus that leaves every half an hour. The journey time from the station to the airport is about 5 minutes and has a cost of around 2 euros.
Rome Termini Underground Station
In addition to regional and long-distance trains, Roma Termini station is also the interchange point of the metro station of the same name, served by line A and line B, a cheap and practical way to visit and move to Rome without being bottled in the city traffic. Taking the metro, in fact, you can move to any point of interest in Rome quickly and comfortably.
Getting around Rome by car or taxi is not recommended. The traffic, especially during peak hours is particularly intense, making the probability of arriving late to your destination very high, not to mention the stress and anxiety from delay or coincidence that a situation like this can cause.
Perfect, but then what is the alternative solution? There are actually several possibilities but the subway is by far the best one.
The red line A connects Rome south-east with the western part of the city, touching all the main points of interest of the historic center: museums, monuments, historical buildings, basilicas and squares. The stops on line A are 27 and take about 40 minutes from one terminus to another. The stops on the red line are Battistini, Cornelia, Baldo degli Ubaldi, Valle Aurelia, Cipro, Ottaviano (station near the Vatican City), Lepanto, Flaminio, Spagna (named after the nearby Spanish Steps), Barberini (near the Trevi Fountain), Repubblica, Termini (exchange station with line B), Vittorio Emanuele, Manzoni, San Giovanni, Re di Roma, Ponte Lungo, Furio Camillo, Colli, Albani, Arco di Travertino, Porta Furba, Numidio Quadrato, Lucio Sestio, Giulio Agricola, Subaugusta, Cinecittà (near the historical film studios) and Anagnina.
The blue B metro, on the other hand, includes twenty-six stops and connects Rome south with the north-eastern part of Rome. Characteristic of the line is the fork that starts from the station of Bologna and that reaches the terminus Jonio. The stops on the blue line are: Laurentina, EUR Fermi, EUR Palasport, EUR Magliana, Marconi, Basilica S. Paolo (near the Basilica of San Paolo fuori le mura), Garbatella, Pyramid (in front of Porta San Paolo and the pyramid Cestia), Circo Massimo, Colosseum, Cavour, Termini, Castro Pretorio, Policlinico and Bologna. From Bologna Station, going towards Rebibbia we find: Tiburtina FS (at the Rome Tiburtina Train Station), Quintiliani, Tiburtini Mountains, Pietralata, Santa Maria del Soccorso, Ponte Mammolo, Rebibbia. Instead taking direction Jonio we find the stops of Sant’Agnese / Annibaliano, Libya, Conca d’Oro and finally Jonio.
From Rome Termini to the port of Civitavecchia
The proximity of our structure to the station of Rome Termini allows, if anything, you have to continue your journey by sea with a ship, to also reach the Port of Civitavecchia, one of the main seaports of the Mediterranean and the most important of Central Italy.
Also in this case there are several ways to reach your destination, but the best is the one that combines a train and a bus. In fact you can easily reach by train the train station of Civitavecchia. The cost of a ticket is variable:
- A regional train is certainly the cheapest option. The cost is, in fact, around 5 euros and the journey time is about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
- An Intercity train costs around 12 euros and takes about 50 minutes to reach your destination.
- Lastly, a Frecciabianca train costs 15 Euros on average and has a travelling time of about 40 minutes.
Whatever you choose, you will find yourself at Civitavecchia Train Station and from here you can reach by bus the port located in Prato del Turco.
Buses and shuttles leave from the square in front of the station every 20 minutes and will take you to your destination in a few minutes. The ticket, including the transport of luggage, has a cost of 2 euros and can be purchased at the nearby bar and at the kiosk of the station.
Alternatively you can continue on foot. Once you leave the station, you can continue towards Via Garibaldi and along the promenade you will find yourself in front of the pedestrian entrance of the port. Once inside, on your right you will find the shuttle bus stop. It will be enough to wait a few minutes to be taken free to boarding.
